Meet APW’s Shining New Team Members

Arizona Project WET (APW) is excited to welcome a couple of new team members, Jordan Christiansen and Rachael King, to its Phoenix office. These two have been delivering educational programming to communities across the state since last November and are already impressing everyone with their knowledge and experience. Until you have the opportunity to meet them in person, read on for a little more info about each of them.

Jordan Christiansen (he/him) comes to APW as a Community Outreach Professional with a PhD in Communication Studies, specializing in Environmental Communication and Water Conservation. His interests in water conservation originate from growing up on his family’s Minnesota farm, where he witnessed first-hand the importance of water for all life. After earning a doctorate from the University of Kansas, Christiansen worked as a professor at several universities before following his passion to pursue a career with a direct impact on water conservation and the environment. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, running, hiking, and baking bread.

Rachael King (she/her) comes to APW as an Outreach Instructional Specialist with a BS in Environmental Science from Arizona State University and a Professional MA in Marine Science from William & Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Her primary career focuses are science communication and water conservation. During the 2020–2021 academic year, King worked with the Arizona Department of Water Resources and APW as an AmeriCorps member. She enjoys hiking, baking, gardening, and spending time with her cat, George.
