On April 22, in celebration of Earth Day 2025, the WRRC and the ASU Water Institute are teaming up to co-host a livestreamed panel, Poisoning the Well: How Forever Chemicals Contaminated America, the title of a newly released book by environmental journalists Sharon Udasin and Rachel Frazin. WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal will introduce the panel, which will be moderated by climate reporter Ian James from the Los Angeles Times. For the panel discussion, the authors will be joined by humanitarian activist Brenda Hampton, US Army veteran Mark Favors, who is a critical care registered nurse and leader in the fight against PFAS pollution, and Liz Rosenbaum, a clean water advocate and the founder of the Fountain Valley Clean Water Coalition. The panelists will discuss how the regulatory system failed to protect communities and individuals from contamination by polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), colloquially known as “forever chemicals.” Please join us for this timely discussion!
