The WRRC's latest quarterly Arizona Water Resource (AWR) newsletter was sent to subscribers and posted on the WRRC's website on October 18, 2017. It contained news and information on newly available resources as well as water-inspired feature stories. WRRC Director Sharon Megdal also contributed her regular Public Policy Review column, this issue focusing on the information sharing, networking, and collaborating made possible by international conferences. The column describes a conference held in Tel Aviv, Israel, on October 10-11, 2017, titled "Cutting-Edge Solutions to Wicked Water Problems", which was co-convened by the American Water Resources Association and the Water Research Center at Tel Aviv University. Many water problems experienced in water scarce regions around the world are wickedly complex and lack single solutions. The column summarizes key insights from the conference and highlights opportunities for exchanging ideas. Director Megdal's participation in this conference, for which she served as co-chair with her Israeli colleague Dror Avisar, as well as her involvement in WATEC 2017 Exhibition and Conference, also in Israel in October, where she moderated a panel on water scarcity, placed her ideally for commenting on the proceedings. A summary of her WATEC panel comments is linked to the AWR column.
