The effective management of water infrastructure is one of the main challenges faced by our water and wastewater systems. Sustainable infrastructure and systems are essential to ensuring the environmental and economic sustainability of communities throughout the nation. To help communities achieve this in Arizona, the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) finances design, improvement, construction and acquisition of wastewater and drinking water projects. WIFA works to maintain and improve water quality by providing financial and technical assistance for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure throughout the state. Utilizing water and wastewater state revolving funds, WIFA helps reduce water pollution and ensures safe drinking water for the public. The poster presentation will highlight why WIFA is a good funding choice for environmental infrastructure projects. Information on WIFA’s programs, eligible projects and applicants, and the benefits of utilizing WIFA for infrastructure costs will be provided. The poster will also showcase WIFA’s green project funds and planning and design assistance grants. Whether it’s through WIFA’s loan program or grant program, WIFA most likely has a funding option that will work for a community’s drinking water or wastewater infrastructure needs. Since WIFA’s inception, more than $1.8 billion has been invested in Arizona.
