UArizona Webinar Series on Water Research and Solutions
March 5, 2021
Droughts, intense rainstorms, floods, debris flows, sea-level rise: all have the common element of water, and all are being exacerbated by climate change. A warmer world will bring increasing ecological, social, and economic challenges in which water plays a key role. What can we as a community do? The UArizona, with a long history of partnering its own experts in water-related research and policy with those from organizations throughout the region, is helping to build water-related resilience at multiple scales.
As conveners of conversations and leaders in finding innovative and collaborative solutions to the world’s most pressing water issues, the Arizona Institutes for Resilience (AIR) is excited to host a year-long, six-part webinar series, “Water Solutions for Our Warmer World.” We invite the community to engage with the top minds in western water to explore regional water-related challenges and solutions.
The series begins with three Spring webinars on March 17, April 21 and May 19, all running from 4:00 to 5:30 pm MST. In partnership with the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy and the Water Resources Research Center, and moderated by renowned UArizona faculty, the live series begins March 17 and continues every third Wednesday during the Spring and Fall via the Zoom platform to bring speakers into your home. Episodes will explore water sustainability and adaptation, water and COVID-19 in Indian Country, and other effects of climate change on water resources.
The series is free, though registration is required. Register now for any of the three Spring webinars by clicking the link below. Episodes will be recorded and available for on-demand viewing after airing live.
